South Downs Nature Photography
These photographs, mainly from the Cuckmere Valley, have been taken by the South Downs Nature Photographer Sid Jeffery.
The wild life on the South downs would have suffered serious habitate loss if Charles William Neville’s South Coast Land and Resort Company had started building low-cost and poorly-controlled housing estates on what had been unspoilt coastal downland. But thanks to the National Trust and the people of Eastbourne in the 1920's this development plan was stopped.
