After their marriage Maria and Raffaele Amato lived in Via San Pietro Ravello. He worked as a pasta maker and Maria was a spinner. Their son Gaetano born 30th July (1870 - 1926) left Italy to find a better life in England where he met Michele Criscuolo who was an Italian importer. In Italy his company was based in Sorrento at number 1 Via Santa Lucia and in England his business card give him trading from 19 Cross Street, Hatton Garden, London EC1.
in 1891 Michele Criscuolo and Gaetano Amato were boarding together in Fulham after arriving in the UK from Italy.
Gaetano met Alice Maud Mary Thomas (1871 - ) they married in ( ) and had three daughters living at Balfour Road Ilford Essex.

All three married and had families.
The 1901 census shows a Joseph Criscuolo (age 36) then living with Raphael Amato (age 74).
The 1911 census shows Michael Criscuolo (age 16) boarding with Gaetano Amato (age 41).
